Happy Halloween 2011

October 31, 2011

Superheroes are a big deal at our house. Most little girls want to be princesses and fairies for Halloween, but when Ethan said he wanted to be Captain America, Ada insisted that she was Iron Man. Gabe didn’t get to decide, but we went with the avengers theme and made him Hulk. It couldn’t be more fitting, though. This kid is easily the most destructive of the three.

I love how serious they take dressing up. When in costume, they need to be called by that characters name. They LOVED it when I told them “Avengers Assemble”.

Moves like Jagger

October 29, 2011

I have to share this picture of Max dancing. While taking his 4 year old pictures he couldn’t help but dance. Max is easily one of the funniest kids ever. His parents are good friends of ours, the type that make you sore from laughing.

This kid has some serious moves. But it’s no surprise when you know this is his uncle.

Working with talented people can make anyone’s job easy. This is for sure the case with photography. I’ve worked with Amanda Schelin, from Branches, before and it’s easy to see how talented she is. Look at these beautiful flowers she did, just for fun.

If you are getting married in the near future, and need an awesome bouquet/corsage/boutonniere/centerpiece, give her a call. You can’t go wrong with her!

Have you ever seen raspberries and blueberries in a bouquet before? I haven’t, and I love it!

St. George Weekend

October 24, 2011

I really enjoy shooting weddings in St. George because we can make a little family trip out of it. On Friday I had the opportunity to shoot Eric and Kim’s lovely wedding at the St. George Temple. These two were a lot of fun and spending the day with their family and friends was a pleasure. Expect a post of their wedding soon, but in the meantime, here is a sneak peek…

On Saturday, I was able to spend the entire day, care-free with, my wife and kids. I’m the type that likes to do as much as I can during a vacation, where as my wife loves to just hang out. I decided to ease up and just go with the flow. We went to breakfast, hung out at the pool and grabbed dinner and Ice cream. It was an awesome weekend.

This Naked Indian is right next to the house we stay in, and it’s what tells me we are finally done driving, and the fun can finally begin.

Ethan and Ada loved the cacti, and had to talk about each one we saw.

I love the dollar racks at Target. We picked up these awesome vampire teeth and some glow sticks there. I imagined having a sweet party, but Ethan and Ada decided they would use them to be sharks in the pool. I’m not sure how much the other swimmers enjoyed us, but we had a blast.

Such a cute little princess!

The kids watching Spongebob on a handheld dvd player before heading off to bed.

One of the highlights of Saturday was meeting my “#1 Fan”. Brenna was down hanging out with my brothers in-law. She had no idea that I was part of the family, but when she found out, she got excited and told them how she and her friends stalk the blog all the time. So of course, I had to take a picture with her.  It was nice meeting you Brenna!

Lovin the Fall

October 16, 2011

Have you been up the canyon’s lately. If you haven’t YOU SHOULD. Get in the car, roll down the windows and turn on some mellow music. I was listening to The Civil Wars, for example. Seriously though I sometimes forget how amazing Utah’s canyons are during the fall.

Bell Family

Teresa –  It was a pleasure spending a beautiful evening up in the mountains with your equally beautiful family.

Lindsey and Ben are Married

October 13, 2011

Lindsey and Ben are such a cute couple. While driving up the canyon in Oakley we got to talk a little bit, and after our short drive together I could tell these two were perfect for each other. He is a little country and she is a little rock and roll. We took the bridals at a family cabin and as you can see, it was just beautiful.

The reception was held in Ben’s family’s back yard. It was a beautiful country style wedding, complete with homemade jam as a thank you gift. I had some myself, and it was delicious.

I had a great time spending the evening with these two and their families. In fact, Lindsey’s awesome sister (who claims to be the reason Lindsey and Ben found me) offered me a room in their house for my next California wedding. How awesome is that?

Can I tell you how excited I am to shoot this couple’s wedding?  First of all, these two are awesome.  They are happy people, and a lot of fun to be around. Second, the first question they asked me was, “would you like to shoot our wedding in Cabo?”

Um, YES!

When we sat down together to discuss what we wanted to do for their engagement session, we discussed bikes and their dog in the mountains. But then they saw the shoot I had done with Zuri, the zebra. Catherine called me and said that the owner of the zebra was a family friend of hers.  Then she told me that she really wanted to have her engagements with the zebra.

So here comes obvious question number two, “would you shoot our session with the zebra?”

YES!

I’m always impressed bye feats of will power, and these two have that. They both finished the 208 mile LOTOJA bike race in September. I’m sure there is some metaphor for marriage in there somewhere.

Thanks, again, Kacey and Catherine.  I can hardly wait until next month!

I just got home from Viansa and Nick’s awesome wedding in Salt Lake at The Pierpont Place. It was a lot of fun. I have shot a lot of her friends weddings so it was nice to see so many friends there. I’ve had so much fun with these two. At the Engagement session we talked about music, wakeboarding, cars, and marriage and just had a lot of fun.

Viansa is seriously one of the nicest and sweetest girls I’ve ever met, and Nick is a guy I could totally hang out with and consider a good friend. When I got home from this shoot I told my wife that I hope our daughter marries someone like him.

Nick is a crazy good skateboarder and total goofball. I could tell he was just itching to do something fun. So I had him do a couple back flips and this little spin move over Viansa. I love it when I meet couples that not only accept there spouses goofiness but encourage it. These two are just meant for each other.

For the Bridal Session Viansa’s Parents came along and had a lot of fun embarrassing these two. You wouldn’t tell from these pictures, but Viansa has a hard time kissing in front of people. I think after the bridals, and the wedding day, she got a little more used to it.

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your awesome day! Nick I’m still waiting for your next band recommendation. Don’t think that just because you’re on your honeymoon your off the hook.

Baby Eden

October 6, 2011

Here are some pictures of my sister’s beautiful baby Eden. I felt like the blog needed a quick little break from weddings. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of beautiful weddings that I’m dying to share with you.
