Thanksgiving Bridal Show

March 27, 2011

I’ve been meaning to post this, but the onset of the busy wedding season and having three kids has kept me busy.

I just wanted to quickly say thank you to all of those that came and said hi at the Thanksgiving Bridal Show. To show my thanks I thought I would extend the Show discount till midnight on April 3rd. That means if you book any wedding package by April 3rd you will get 10% off the whole package.
If you have any questions please send me an email or give me a call.

This discount does not apply to weddings that are already booked.

On another note I have been playing with a different type of vintage edit that I’m excited to show off in a post soon to come.

Forever I have had my main site forwarded to this blog. But finally I have a site built and ready to showcase my work. Go check it out, and comeback to let me know what you think.  www.travisjphotography.com

Our friend and neighbor asked me to take a picture of this pie for her family cookbook. Rather than taking a boring picture of a pie I decided to ask my mother in-law, an awesome stylist and amazing decorator, for help. This is what she came up with.
If this doesn’t get you excited for Thanksgiving then we can’t be friends.

RAYN – Yarn Twisted

February 12, 2010

My neighbor contacted me with a bit of a proposition. She does some great crochet work and has done a few pieces for me in the past. She offered to make a bunch of newborn hats and cocoons for me, if I would take some pictures of her hats that are currently for sale on her Etsy site. I knew that my friend Lexi would be a perfect model to show off these hats. It was a lot of fun and I’m excited to do some more.
If any of you own a boutique or have items you sell on Etsy or anywhere that would benefit from professional pictures, lets talk.

This last one was just for fun.

Keith Bryce Shoot

December 23, 2009

This shoot has been sitting in my to-do list for months now. So long, that I can already see an improvement in my pictures.
A while back I seized the opportunity to do a shoot with the designer Keith Bryce. His name might sound familiar, if you are a fan of Project Runway on Bravo. Julie Parker and Keith Bryce, organized seven photographers, including myself, four models, and three stylist to meet at an old sugar factory in North Ogden. We spent a few hours exploring the place, shooting, and just having fun. Out of no where, this dude in a truck pulls up, and starts screaming obscenities, and telling us to get off his property. Before we could even think he whipped out his rifle, from the passenger seat of his truck, and had it pointed at the obviously threatening models. As we cautiously approached this lunatic, he was screaming so hard, spit was spraying all over us. After a few minutes of trying to calm him down, and trying explain to him that we were given permission to be there, we gave up and decided to find a new location. Thankfully we were all able to get out of there unscathed.
When I got home and told my wife the whole story, I also discovered that in the whole confusion, I had also lost an entire 4gb card of pictures. I was more sick about losing those pictures, than I was having a crazy guy point a gun at my face.
Crazy story aside, I had a lot fun and learned a lot about what goes into a fashion shoot. I also think I got a few cool pictures to show from it.

San Diego

November 20, 2009

I haven’t had a full week of vacation in years. San Diego was just what the doctor ordered. We didn’t have any plans other than Sea World, so we were able to just relax and go with the flow. I won’t bore you with the details but here are some pictures from the trip.

I think I miss the sunsets the most.

Sunday mornings

October 2, 2009

As far as church goes, I have always thought the earlier the better. This year our church has been at 1:00pm. So we are lazy all morning, go to church, and then it feels like the day is over. Last week we were all dressed and ready a little earlier than usual, so we went for a little drive, and found this cool place. I think this would be a great place to use for an engagement session or senior session. Its not a very colorful place so vibrant outfits would work well here. Like all parents I love every picture taken of my kids. I love seeing their personalities stand out in every shot. These are no exception.

Mustache May

May 8, 2009

May is synonymous with flowers, spring, Mothers day, and all sorts of girly things. Although I can appreciate these things, I am trying to raise awareness of a the manly side of May, and what is more manly than a well groomed mustache. I have been walking around taking pictures of guys and their mustaches. I also have been asking them a few questions, like how long they have had it and what their wife or girlfriend thinks about it. Not surprisingly the women in their lives LOVE it, and who can blame them, really. Here is this weeks collection of awesomeness.

Cinco De Mayo

May 5, 2009

To be completely honest I have no Idea what the holiday celebrates. I’ll have to go check Wikipedia to find out, but what I do know is that it makes me want to go eat some yummy mexican food. It doesn’t get much more yummy or authentic than a spicy pork burrito from a taco cart downtown. Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone. Go eat a burrito. I just hope we don’t all celebrate Cinco De Mayo’s revenge tomorrow.

Self Portrait

May 4, 2009

I have a very exciting workshop coming up, and for this workshop they asked that we send them a self portrait. I am generally the one behind the camera so my options were pretty poor. My wife and I were thinking about it and thought it would be fun to make some Batman t-shirts and play around with my son.

Self Portraits are harder than I thought, but I liked the results.
