I am very excited to post these senior pictures. Alishea is a beautiful senior from Alta High and it was a lot of fun to spend and evening capturing her personality. Alishea’s session started off really well and we got some great shots right away. We then moved to a new location where she asked to change outfits. I’m a big supporter of variety in wardrobe but I didn’t expect the dancing shoes. The sun was going down so I was very glad that I brought some of my lighting just in case. Believe it or not I’m not a dancer so I had to rely heavily on her for poses. She asked if she should do some of her tricks. I just laughed because it sounded like she was on a skateboard and was going to do a kickflip or something. I said of course and was amazed by her talent. Another great part was listening to her little sister say, “SICK! She is sooo flexible.” These fun shots prove again that when booking a portrait session you should not be afraid to use your talent as a prop. Thanks again Alishea.

Another cute couple getting married in May. I feel bad having dragged these guys all over downtown with Scott on crutches from an old motorcycle accident. We would walk to a location and he would then ditch the crutches and stand strong while I did my best to shoot quickly and get him back on the crutches. I can’t wait to share their Wedding Announcement my wife designed for them. Those should be up soon.

What a gorgeous family. I have know them for a while, especially Whit who has been friends with my sister since Elementary school. They are such a nice personable family and it was a pleasure to spend a couple hours with them talking and taking pictures. I was also excited to find out that they are expecting another child, and they couldn’t be happier about it. Congratulations again you guys.

What a good looking family. These kids are so full of character and funny expression, I couldn’t help but bust up laughing while going through them. One day I plan on making a collage of all the goofy faces Rian made while her parents tried to convince her to laugh. And baby Hudson is just adorable, this kid doesn’t take a bad picture.

Warning this is going to be a big post. After last week’s sneak peek of these two, I got a lot of people asking me if they are a gothic couple and if they hired the mime to follow us around on this shoot. The truth is that mime just happened to be walking by while we were playing around downtown. Really this session turned out really great and has made me even more excited to shoot their wedding in May.

This was an awesome engagement session with a close friend of mine. I’m excited to post more from this later, but for now I’ll leave you with this picture with the creepy mime.

RAYN – Yarn Twisted

My neighbor contacted me with a bit of a proposition. She does some great crochet work and has done a few pieces for me in the past. She offered to make a bunch of newborn hats and cocoons for me, if I would take some pictures of her hats that are currently for sale on her Etsy site. I knew that my friend Lexi would be a perfect model to show off these hats. It was a lot of fun and I’m excited to do some more.
If any of you own a boutique or have items you sell on Etsy or anywhere that would benefit from professional pictures, lets talk.

This last one was just for fun.

Foggy Morning

January 17, 2010

For those that don’t know I am working on a photo a day project, and this morning the fog gave me some ideas that I wanted to try out. Since there were a few I wanted to share I decided to post some more here. To see the photo of the day project click here.

Getting to know Matt and Mitra was a lot of fun. The thing that was most impressive to me though, was how tough Mitra was, out in the below freezing weather. I felt like my hands were going to freeze off and I had a coat and boots on.
Matt lives in China while Mitra lives in California. So as you can imagine when they get together its hard to separate them. We did this shoot at Matt’s grandparent’s cabin. The location was just beautiful.
